Mike and Brady have returned from another successful Combined Sections Meeting. This year, the World’s largest meeting of physical therapists was in Chicago -12,400 people strong. Our presentations (3) about neuropathy, translating science to the clinic, and fall prevention were all very well received. It is always so invigorating and stimulating to interact with colleagues from across the nation that we have already drafted our proposals for the 2013 meeting. We always have room to learn and improve!

Yes. That’s right. Thanks to the efforts of Rene’e (that’s now Renee James, MPT, OCS, CMP) and Brady (now Brady Whetten, PT, DPT, GCS) we can now “boast” that we MAY be the ONLY outpatient clinic in the WORLD with three different APTA board certified therapists of these three specialty areas: Neurologic (Mike); Orthopedic (Rene’e) and Geriatric (Brady). Representatives of American Physical Therapy Association did some research on this one…Thanks APTA!

We were open for rehabilitation on the 26th of December – thanks to the great efforts of the NWRA family. We had an additional agenda and purpose on that day, as we pledged $50.00 to Marion Polk Food Share (MPFS) for every patient seen. We are proud to announce that due to these successful efforts – we raised over 10,000 POUNDS of food for MPFS. Thank you to our clients and staff for these efforts. We love what we do and this makes it even more fulfilling!

Specialist Care with a Personal Touch

We continue to live our motto more faithfully each year. Just this past week, Rene’e and Brady were notified that they each passed their APTA Board Certification examinations. This prestigious designation (Rene’e as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, OCS and Brady as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist, GCS) leaves NWRA with what we BELIEVE (yet are unable to confirm thus far) as THE ONLY FREESTANDING OUTPATIENT CLINIC IN THE NATION with 3 separate individuals representing Neurologic, Orthopedic and Geriatric Clinical Specialization at the same site! We await response from the American Physical Therapy Association to confirm. Stay tuned!
